ART IN THE PEN 2018
THIRSK AND SKIPTON
If you are looking for something to do this weekend Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August, then look no further. You could have a lovely drive across the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to Skipton, followed by an interesting browse around Art in the Pen.
Art in the Pen is an unusual venue for an art and crafts exhibition, which makes it even more interesting.

I visited the sister event at Thirsk Auction Mart a couple of weeks ago where I found many fabulous artists. I could have had several holes in my pocket had I not constrained my impulses.
Here are a few of the artists and craftspeople I enjoyed meeting. Many of these people will also be attending Skipton Art In The Pen this weekend.
There are so many inspirational artists and crafters at Art In The Pen this year. The standard is extremely high. Here are just a small selection of the work I particularly liked.
I really enjoyed watching a demonstration by Gosha of Goshart . What an unusual present one of these illustrations would make for the sport enthusiast who thinks they might have everything! Find out more about her by clicking here.
Hanrine is a small Yorkshire family business created by sisters Hannah and Catherine Bates. I’ve been looking for a stylish indoor log cradle for a while – and now I’ve found one!
I adore this querky industrial artwork by Gavid Darby and Garry Jones – perfect for a contemporary setting in home or garden!
