I’ve enjoyed visiting Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios for 3 or 4 years now and it’s always such a treat!  Wetherby is a lovely little market town to visit, with its good variety of shops and eating places, and a lovely river.

There’s such a plethora of amazing talent in and around Wetherby and an informal occasion such as this is a great way to find it!

As with all of the Open Studios I have visited, Artists Around Wetherby Open Studios is exceptionally well organised:

there is a map to direct us to the artists’studios, homes and other venues, a profile of each artist with examples of their work so we can choose who we want to visit and of course a friendly greeting on arrival!

All of this information can be accessed on line via their website.

or their Facebook page

They will also have hard copy catalogues available on the day.

Some of the artists I’ve particularly enjoyed following in previous years are Jan Bulley, Clare Dean and Drew Ward.

Drew Ward and Jan Bulley are exhibiting again with more new work.

Jill Neale’s floral touch.

I like Jan Purvis’s landscapes and in particular her querky animal portrait Man’s Best Friend

Julia Rushforth’s ceramics are reminscent of the goreous Yorkshire landscapes.

Note: Julia is only open on the 2nd weekend.

Vibrant colours of Pat Willard’s work.

Love Clare Dean’s ‘Harry’ and Sandra Dean’s Poppies.

OOO there are so many fabulous artists again this year, I’m really excited about viewing them.

I hope you make it.

If you do, let me know what you think by leaving a comment on this page.

Or leave a comment anyway to let me know what you think of these blogs.

Take a look at the website link I gave you at the top.

Have a nice day out.

It would be great to hear what you got up to.

You could leave me a message in my box at the bottom of this page. 🙂

Somewhere to eat?

There are few things I like better than to sit beside the river at Wetherby with my Filmore and Union Carrot Cake Muffin. Or is it their Chocolate Brownie?  Or is it one of their gorgeous salad mixes?

Be prepared to be undecided.  You will not be disappointed.

If you prefer to eat in there are a few cafe stools available.

Check our their menu here.

If you prefer something more filling they also have a Bistro in Wetherby with inside or outside seating.
